Acceptance is based on the following criteria: performance on the High School Placement Test, the 7th and 8th grade record, other standardized test scores, and recommendations from teachers and/or principal. Any student in the eighth, ninth, or tenth grade who is capable of college-preparatory curriculum may apply to Fontbonne Academy. Eighth grade students wishing to apply should contact the Admissions Office. Ninth or tenth grade students wishing to apply should contact the Guidance Department to discuss the transfer process. Dates for the High School Placement Test (HSPT)

Saturday, December 11 at 8am A complete application to Fontbonne Academy requires the following three steps: DOWNLOAD: Key Dates & Information (PDF) 1. Placement exam High School Placement Tests (HSPT) are given by the Catholic, secondary schools in the Archdiocese of Boston. While we realize the HSPT scores are only a snapshot of a student’s academic background, they do provide an additional lens through which we can understand a student’s profile. It is only one factor of many being considered by the admissions committee.
That said, Fontbonne Academy offers merit scholarships to applicants with exemplary grades in 7th and 8th grade who meet the qualifying score on the High School Placement Test. You may test at any location, and have your scores sent to the Catholic schools of your choice. The High School Placement Test is only taken once during the admissions season. You may not retake the test in hopes of achieving a higher test score. SSAT and ISEE scores may be submitted in support of an applicant’s admission, but we will not accept those scores in lieu of the High School Placement Test. The test will be given at Fontbonne Academy on November 13th and December 11th at 8 a.m.
If you wish to take the HSPT at Fontbonne, please download a copy of the card here and return to Fontbonne Academy with the $25 registration fee as soon as possible, as space is limited. At the time of the test, a student can indicate as many as five schools to which her scores will be sent. DOWNLOAD: HSPT registration card (PDF) 2. Application Each young woman interested in applying to Fontbonne must complete and file an application, including the Student Application form with essays, a Parent Information form and a Teacher Recommendation, with a $30 application fee no later than December 15. Middle / elementary school transcript A copy of the transcript record from middle/elementary school attended by the applicant is required and must be mailed directly to the Fontbonne Admissions Office. We recognize that our students come from many surrounding communities and have working parents. The Fontbonne cafeteria is open from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. with a proctored faculty member. This enables all our students to stay for extracurricular activities, to complete homework and study in a safe environment. Do you have to be Catholic to apply/enroll?
Not at all. We are an inclusive community welcoming all faiths. Fontbonne Academy is open to young women of all backgrounds and cultures. Our community is richer for the breadth of the experience our students bring. What is a typical school day like at Fontbonne?
School begins at 7:50 a.m. Each morning there are announcements. Our Student Council Officers lead our community in prayer, followed by highlights of past and upcoming Fontbonne events, and student achievements. Classes run until 2:05 p.m. and students are assigned to a 30-minute lunch block between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Classes are approximately 40 minutes. What is after school life like at Fontbonne?
After school activites range from clubs to sports to student council activities and games. There are 20+ clubs available. Our Activities Fair in September will allow you to get to know the breadth of what is available. Will going to Fontbonne help me get into a good college?
As a college-preparatory institution, we are proud of the fact that 100% of our graduating seniors are accepted to outstanding four-year institutions.
