Fontbonne boasts four students who were recognized in the National Merit Scholarship Competition! From left to right: Semifinalist Julia Butts, and Commended Students Jessica Baker, Maretta Morovitz, and Caroline Cabral.
Of the top 50,000 of more than 1.5 million students who took the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) in October 2011 and entered the National Merit Scholarship Program, 34,000 are recognized as Commended Students (the other 16,000, or approximately 1%, are named Semi-finalists). Fontbonne Academy Senior Julia Butts has been named a Semi-finalist and will have the opportunity to continue in the competition. It is an honor for any school to have a Commended Student, as they are chosen from a very competitive field; it is extraordinary that Fontbonne Academy has three Commended Students and one Semi-finalist.
