|
All parents of current and past Fontbonne students are automatically members of the Fontbonne Academy Parents Guild. The goal of the Parents Guild is to foster friendship and fellowship while providing vital support to the school and the Learning Community.
The Parents Guild meets regularly throughout the year and sponsors a number of spiritual and social events. The Parents Guild also plays a critical fundraising role at Fontbonne through its support of the Parents Fund and its sponsorship of two fundraising events: Evening of Stars and Dancing with the Fontbonne Stars. In addition, the Parents Guild supports school-sponsored activities, such as Open House, Ninth Grade Orientation, and Admissions activities. Click here for: Parents Guild Brochure, Giving Options.
2013 Senior Awards
On Tuesday evening, May 21, at 6 p.m., the seniors and their families gathered in the auditorium for Baccalaureate Liturgy and the Awards Ceremony. Father Chris Hickey from St. Mary's in Hanover and Father Sean Connor from St. Ann's in Neponset con-celebrated the liturgy with the seniors taking on the roles of music ministers, readers, gift bearers, and Eucharistic ministers. The class officers led the procession with the altar cloth made by Mrs. Toole and signed by every senior at their retreat. After the liturgy, the Baccalaureate speaker, Mary Kelly, addressed the audience with poignant and humorous stories from life at Fontbonne. The students loved every minute of Mary's walk down Memory Lane. Mr. Gregg Chambers, Assistant Head of School for Mission Advancement, accepted the senior gift on behalf of the school. The Class of 2013 donated a fountain. The class will be invited to a dedication ceremony in the fall.
The Awards Ceremony included recognition of excellence in academics, leadership and service in extra-curricular activities, and perfect attendance. There were also numerous special awards given to seniors in Fine Arts, Social Justice, Mathematics, Language, Service and Athletics. Click here to view the full list of awards and their recipients. The evening ended with a reception in the foyer for the seniors and their families.
Parent Volunteering Opportunities Parents are encouraged to join one or more of the Parents Guild committees listed below:
Parents Fund Fontbonne relies on the Parents Fund to ensure that our students have the resources they need, every day, to prepare for the next phase of their academic life. The school can't do it without you. Every gift will help us reach our goal of 100% participation.
Evening of Stars
All parents are expected to support EOS in some way. This committee meets regularly November-March to plan all aspects of this annual fundraising gala. This is a great way to meet other parents while helping the school.
Dancing with the Fontbonne Stars
Help plan this fun fall fundraiser based on the successful “Dancing with the Stars” television show.
Hospitality
This committee welcomes parents and prospective students/families at all meetings and events and may also provide light refreshments for some occasions.
Admissions Ambassadors
